National Identity Card (NIC) is proof of citizenship and identity. It is also known as Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).

NIC/CNIC has a unique 13 digit identification number widely recogonized across the country. NIC/CNIC can be used to:
- obtain National Tax Number (NTN)
- apply for licenses
- open a bank account
- apply for a passport
- get a cellular connection
